CHRISTO: HS & adults go for 8 days in July to do
repair work; in 2007, they went to La. In 2009, they went to Iowa. In
2010 they traveled to Philadelphia. In 2011 will be traveling to Washington
D.C..
Home Mission: JH & adults do repair work within the
county for 4 days in June or July
Christian Café: free meal on the 1st & 3rd
Tuesdays of the month from 4 to 6.
Table Talk: bring shut-ins to church for a meal once
a month on the second Tuesday at noon.
Spiderweb: support tutoring, clothing bank, etc. for
El. & HS students and families
in Jefferson Area Schools and Ashtabula County
Pinetown, S. Africa: established a "sister church" (financial
support, e-mail contact, etc.); several members visited in the fall of
2004 & several more in Feb., 2007.
SERRV: A market for handcrafted items from artisans in
developing countries to provide them meaningful income. Host a market here
2 times a year
St. Herman’s: youth and adults take meals once
a year to this men’s
shelter in Cleveland
30 Hour Famine: teens raise money for their fast & the
money goes to children in developing world countries for famine relief
(through World Vision
in ‘07) ‘08–to Matt Cramer’s Orphan Relief & Rescue
in Liberia
SouperBowl of Caring: teens raise & use the funds to provide the meal
at St. Herman’s
Living Gift Market in Nov. each year to benefit Heifer,
Int., Habitat for Humanity in Ashtabula Co., & Nothing But Nets
Collection
Mittens for Spiderweb at Christmas time
At Christmas "adopt" several families for
the county-wide project HALO at Christmas, encourage
individual families and groups to also "adopt",
UMW Mary/Martha Circle makes quilts for the families personal supplies
and clothing for Catholic Worker drop-in center in Cleveland and collect
socks in the winter on "sock Sunday"
support Manna, the area food bank
Blanket Sunday offering through Church World Service
Encourage financial support to students in El Salvador to
enable them to attend school
United Methodist offerings throughout the year (Human Relations Day, One
Great Hour of Sharing, Native American Ministries Sunday, Peace with Justice
Sunday, World Communion Sunday, & United Methodist Student Day)
Fourth Sunday Change Collection of loose change to support
Kelly Crowell who are in mission through Coalition of Christian
Outreach at University of Pittsburgh & Matt Cramer who is
working with orphanages in Liberia, Africa
Sunday school offering goes to:
